Annual Family Concert

MEE’s Family Concert is one of the North Shore’s favorite musical traditions. With a fascinating mix of music, instruments, narrative and audience interaction, our programs are a great way to have fun with the entire family while discovering something new – a new piece, a new instrument, maybe a new friend who will perform for you!

A special feature of the Family Concert is our “Meet the Instruments and Their Owners” intermission. This gives audience members, young and old, an opportunity to get close to each instrument and discover its special meaning to each performer. Everyone is invited to mingle with the artists at a free reception following the performance.

Proceeds benefit Music at Eden’s Edge’s youth and senior/family outreach programs.

Presented at the First Religious Society in Newburyport, our 2010 Family Concert offered a treat for the whole family. Celebrity Concert Host Ray Brown of Boston’s All Classical 99.5 joined MEE artists Maria Benotti, violin; Mark Berger, viola; Orlando Cela, flute; Neil Fairbairn, bassoon; Sarah Freiberg, cello; and John H. Wallace, composer, in a program filled with great music, captivating poetry and audience interaction. Special thanks to the Institution for Savings, our concert sponsor, as well as Andyman Dessert and Baking Co. of Amesbury, the Nutcracker at the Tannery and Greta’s Great Grains of Newburyport for their support.
